    Panelists will provide an overview of the Overdose Response Strategy (ORS), a national public health/public safety program led by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program. Panelists will also describe current and emerging drug trends. The panel will discuss evidence-based responses and data-sharing strategies that local police agencies can undertake to inform decision-making and resource allocation with the goal of reducing drug overdoses. Attendees will hear from a local ORS team consisting of a drug intelligence officer and a public health analyst about their work bringing collaborative strategies to local law enforcement. A police chief and local outreach worker will explain how the ORS can provide expertise and serve as a force multiplier in communities, with the goal of reducing overdose deaths.
