Kara Rose is a Senior Police Advisor with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs where she provides technical law enforcement expertise, policy analysis, and program guidance across a global portfolio including in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Central Asia.
Kara has over 30 years of police experience including at executive level positions. Her experience includes training; accreditation; police oversight, program management, special operations, human resources, and organizational development. She is an experienced investigator, firearms instructor, Taser® Instructor, and police trainer. During her career, Kara served as a subject matter expert in the development, administration, and analysis of promotional testing and assessment centers. She is a member of the IACP, FBI National Academy Alumni Association, and the National Tactical Officers Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration. Kara is a graduate of the 259th Session of the FBI National Academy and the Police Executive Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP).
