Kyle A. Dowdy is a Deputy Chief for the Farmington, New Mexico Police Department. He started policing in 2004 and has since held leadership positions in Patrol, SWAT, Special Operations, Internal Affairs, Use of Force Review Board, Training, and Administration. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from New Mexico State University as well as a Master's Degree in Homeland Security from the Center for Homeland Defense Security at the Naval Postgraduate School, Graduate Certificates in History from Western New Mexico University and Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from New Mexico State University. He is an adjunct history professor at San Juan College in the Humanities Department, teaching Western Civilizations. He served in the military where he was deployed multiple times to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has a wife and three boys. He enjoys coaching basketball and traveling.
