    Taylor Merriss has been a member of the Evansville Police Department since 2015. She has been in her current position as Special Projects Coordinator since 2021. In this role she maintains all social media accounts, is very active in community engagement and supports the Public Information Officer. During her time as Special Projects Coordinator she has assisted in redacting body camera footage, preparing the departments message for press conferences and also assisted on scene with staging media and providing updates. The Evansville Police Department is very transparent and strives to provide all available infomation, including body camera footage, as quickly as possible during critical incidents. The relationship between local news outlets, radio stations and written press are very good; this in often times is beneficial to their department and a relationship they strive to keep.
