Inspector Nicholas Capriglione started his career with NJ TRANSIT Police in January of 2000. He worked in patrol division until 2003, where he was promoted to sergeant and worked in Newark Penn Station. He was then promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2011. In 2014, as captain, he was appointed as the Executive Officer in Administration as well as overseeing districts 5, 6, and 7 in Trenton, Camden, and Atlantic City. In 2021, he was promoted to Police Inspector, where he directed all daily police operations for Newark Penn Station and oversaw the NJTPD Social Service Outreach Unit. Inspector Capriglione is now the Commanding Officer of Administration.
Inspector Capriglione is a graduate of the Somerset County Police Academy and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police's Command and Leadership program. He holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in administrative science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is the recipient of one exceptional duty medal, two excellent police service awards, three honor awards, one distinguished service award, two meritorious duty awards, one life-saving award and two-unit commendations.
