Jennifer Pierce-Weeks, BSN, RN, SANE-P, SANE-A, is CEO of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), is an expert clinician, nurse educator, and champion for forensic nursing. A RN since 1986 and forensic nurse since 1995, she has worked on behalf of IAFN internationally, including projects with the IACP to introduce best practices in responding to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Egypt and Mexico. Her commitment to the global work includes training Peace Corps Medical Providers on medical management of SGBV; partnering with the Human Rights and War Crimes Unit of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to provide training on the medical forensic response to GBV in Botswana; and conducting needs assessments, education and program implementation in American Samoa, Armenia, Belize, Botswana, Canada, Egypt, Eswatini, Georgia, Ghana, India, Mexico, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, and Tanzania. She presents on topics including sexual assault/abuse, IPV, strangulation, child maltreatment, and program management; has written, edited and reviewed protocols/policies, and authored or co-authored a variety of publications.
