Keenon James serves as the Senior Director of the Everytown Survivor Network (ESN). As a gun violunce survivor, Mr. James leads the ESN, a nationwide community of gun violence survivors, who share their real life experiences with gun violence, work to improve access to victims’ resources, and advocate for safer communities through meaningful legislation. Keenon's research, legislative, and advocacy work spans over two decades. He played a leading role with the Justice Reinvestment Initiative through the Pew Charitable Trusts, directed police agency assessments with the US Department of Justice COPS Office's Collaborative Reform Initiative, and developed inmate housing and crime victims’ notification programs with the North Carolina Sheriffs' Association. Prior to joining the team at Everytown, Keenon served as the Deputy Director of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, NOBLE, helping to advance policing practices and equity in the administration of justice. Keenon serves on the Prince George's County Police Accountability Board providing a critical link of collaboration, accountability, and transparency in his community.
