Crystal M. Daye, who is a program manager and research associate, manages the Workforce Wellbeing
and Effectiveness Program in the Center for Public Safety and Resilience at RTI International. Since
joining RTI in 2010, she has supported several projects to improve victims’ interactions with the criminal
justice system, improve operations for law enforcement (LE) and other criminal justice stakeholders, and
transfer knowledge for criminal justice and other ancillary practitioners. Her research interests include
policing (operations and training); sexual assault investigation reform; multidisciplinary response to
solving crime; use of forensics to aid criminal investigations; emergency responder health and wellness;
and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the criminal legal system and among the work force.
Before joining RTI, Ms. Daye served as the accreditation manager for the Morrisville (North Carolina)
Police Department, where in 2009 she led the successful effort to obtain national accreditation from the
Commission for Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies.
