Detective Will Hallifax, a 20-year veteran of the Bellevue Police Department, has served in various roles including patrol, SWAT, pro-act and narcotics. His primary focus is preventing targeted violence; completing FBI's Threat Management Course and earning certification in 2022 as one of only 300 nationally recognized Certified Threat Managers through the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. Co-founding Bellevue's multi-disciplinary Threat Management Team, he conducts training and speaks at regional events about workplace and targeted violence in schools, houses of worship, and businesses.
Currently assigned as a Task Force Officer at Seattle FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, he conducts threat assessments and collaborates with the public and private sectors to help develop threat management programs. Det. Hallifax utilizes Extreme Risk Protection Orders with King County Prosecutor's Office as part of a larger threat management approach for both juveniles and adults to mitigate potential threats.
In 2023, he contributed to the Police Executive Research Forum, addressing ERPO implementation and strategies for reducing gun violence.
