Dr. Leah M. Rouse is a licensed and board-certified psychologist, and Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Working from an Indigenous epistemology, she specializes in trauma psychology, suicidology, and wellness issues that impact law enforcement, service members and veterans, cancer patients and survivors, and American Indian communities. Dr. Rouse has formerly served as a State of Wisconsin Capital Police Officer, and ended her law enforcement career as an Officer with the City of Milwaukee Police Department. She is of Métis (Great Lakes: Yamaska, Trois-Rivières, Mackinac Island, La Baye/Green Bay, Prairie du Chien) heritage, and a documented Daughter of the American Revolution following a proud heritage of seven previous generations of military and justice system service on behalf of First Nations communities and the United States.
