Commander Grispino began his law enforcement career in 2002 as a police officer at Cleveland State University, Ohio. In 2006, Grispino joined the Shaker Heigths Police Department, a suburb of Cleveland Ohio. In 2015, he was promoted to Sergeant within the Uniform Bureau, until he was assigned to investigations as the Intelligence Unit Detective Sergeant in 2018. In 2019, Grispino was promoted to Lieutenant within the Uniform Bureau and the Community Engagement Unit. In 2023, he was promoted to Commander of the Uniform Bureau where he currently serves and also supervises the Regional Mental Health Response Unit, known as the Crisis Assistance and Local Linkage (CALL) Program.
Grispino holds a B.S. in Criminology and Sociology in addition to a M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Police Staff and Command and the Ohio Police Executive Leadership College. Commander Grispino has also completed coursework recognizing him as a Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) within the State of Ohio. He is also an adjunct instructor with Northwestern University and Tiffin University.
