Nicole Pruss joined the Department of Justice in 2010. She has worked for the COPS Office since October 2020 as a Social Science Analyst. Nicole focuses on crisis intervention and officer safety and wellness. She is also interested in officer recruitment and retention. Before she came to the COPS Office, she worked at the Bureau of Prisons constructing staff and inmate surveys. Nicole also reviewed research proposals and designed program evaluations. She completed her higher education in Texas - first, at Trinity University in San Antonio, and then at The University of Texas in El Paso. Nicole earned her PhD in Legal Psychology from UTEP by conducting original research on eyewitness interviews with interpreters.
