R. Sean Baldwin is a manager with the Institute for Intergovernmental Research's (IIR) Center for Youth and Community Justice Initiatives. In this role, he supports the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s National Gang Center and Gang Resistance Education and Training programs as well as the Bureau of Justice Assistance's Students Teachers and Officers Preventing School Violence program. Mr. Baldwin works with law enforcement agencies and communities across the nation to provide training and guidance in implementation of violence reduction and safety strategies.
Prior to working with IIR, Mr. Baldwin served 25 years as a law enforcement officer in Fort Pierce, Florida. He worked as a patrol officer, violent crimes detective, community policing officer and was promoted through the ranks, serving his last nine years as Chief of Police.
Mr. Baldwin holds a master's degree in criminal justice administration from Lynn University. He is also a graduate of both the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy (208th Session) and the Southern Police Institute’s Administrative Officers Course (113th Session).
