James Lyon has been in the law enforcement profession for over 35 years, serving for nearly 20 of those years as a Chief. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, class 252 and has served on the IACP's Board of Directors, and is in his second year of service on the Community Policing Committee. He is also the Immediate Past General Chair of the University and College Police Section.
