Chief Troche currently serves as the police chief for the City of Sarasota, Florida. He began his 27-year career in law enforcement with the Largo Police Department and joined the Sarasota Police Department in 2002. In 2022, Chief Troche was appointed the department’s first Hispanic Chief of Police. He leads a department of 190 sworn and 65 professional support personnel.
Chief Troche promotes community policing initiatives and works in partnership with the city’s residents and stakeholders to build trust and transparency. He has implemented numerous programs aimed at engaging and empowering youth.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from Saint Leo University and a Mini-MBA in Business Essentials from Rutgers University. Chief Troche has been married to his wife Kelly for over 25 years and they have 3 daughters.
