Ryan Walsh is the Director of the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) and Boston Police Department’s Bureau of Intelligence & Analysis. He has served in this position since June 2023. Prior to this role, Ryan had been the Deputy Director of the BRIC since 2015. In these roles, he serves as the analytic supervisor of the Criminal Intelligence branch, tasked with providing intelligence and analytic support to officers and commanders throughout the Metro-Boston region on a wide range of crime issues.
Ryan joined the BRIC in 2012, serving as a Senior Intelligence Analyst, providing analytic and intelligence support to the BPD Auto Theft Unit. Before joining the department, he worked as a Program Analyst with the US Department of State, Bureau of Management. At the State Department, he worked on the implementation of a worldwide performance management program to improve the department’s provision of management services at overseas embassies.
Ryan has a Master of Arts in Public Policy degree from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy and a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College.
