Executive Director, Office of Language and Communications Access
City of Boston, Massachusetts
Jeniffer Vivar Wong (she/hers/ella) is the Executive Director for the Mayor's Office of Language and Communications Access in the City of Boston. She leads her team in creating an inclusive city, ensuring accessibility to critical resources, programs, events and information for persons who speak a language other than English and persons with disabilities.
Jeniffer is a DACA recipient from Guatemala, an immigrant and an ESL learner. She graduated from the UMass Boston with two degrees in Business Management and Latin American and Iberian Studies and currently attends Northeastern University for a Masters in Public Administration. As a child, Jeniffer would often serve as an interpreter and translator for her parents due to the lack of language access services present in government, schools and hospital systems. Therefore, she understands how vital it is to dismantle barriers to access and ensure services are available to all. Jeniffer collaborates with a number of departments, organizations and agencies in an aligned approach that puts constituent wellbeing at the forefront. She is proud to be a part of the city-wide effort of providing access to all Bostonians.
