Sergeant Peter Moscaritolo has been with the department since 2006 when he started his career in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. He transferred to the departments's Peer Support Unit in 2016 where he was the coordinator for the Critical Incident Stress Management Team and representative to the State CISM team. Sgt. Moscaritolo has debriefed hundreds of officers after critical incidents as a peer counselor since he was first trained in 2012. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2020 and returned to patrol in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. In 2022 Sgt Moscaritolo transferred to the Street Outreach Unit and took on the duties of the commander of the night shift. Sgt Moscaritolo has also served as "Acting Commander" of the unit at various times. Most notably he was acting commander during the planning and implementation of the "No Tent Ordinance" that was enacted in the city of Boston in October/November 2023. Sergeant Moscaritolo has received numerous awards and commendations throughout his career in his various assignments.
