Lieutenant Michael Monteagudo is employed with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), where he currently oversees the Border Division Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF). With over 24 years of service, he has held various roles with the CHP, including field patrol, task force agent on the CA-DOJ Firearms Trafficking Task Force, vehicle theft investigator, and sergeant with the Foreign Export and Recovery (FEAR) team. Lieutenant Monteagudo is also a member of the Critical Incident Investigation Team (CIIT), involved in officer-involved shooting investigations and the Special Response Team (SRT). In February 2022, he served as the Executive Operations Officer for Super Bowl 56, coordinating with Inglewood Police Department and the NFL on traffic management and security. In March 2023 he was appointed to oversee ORCTF. The ORCTF is committed to disrupting, apprehending, and seeking successful prosecution against organized retail crime groups throughout California while accomplishing the mission of the California Highway Patrol in providing the highest level of safety, service, and security to the people in California.
