Leighton D'Antoni is the Chief of the Dallas County DA's Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Cold Case Team. He specializes in cold case homicides, sexual assaults, and serial rapists. While Chief, the Dallas DA’s SAKI Team has successfully identified over 90 serial offenders linked to more than 600 victims.
In 2019, Leighton prosecuted the longest delayed death capital murder trial in Texas history, 30 years, resulting in a conviction and life sentence. He was lead prosecutor on the very first murder and sexual assault convictions using IGG, as well as the first IGG jury trial in Dallas history.
Leighton serves on the Texas Governor’s Sexual Assault Survivors’ Task Force, is recognized nationally as an expert on cold cases, serial killers, and DNA/IGG for the DOJ, FBI, the AAFS, IHIA, SEHIA, TDCAA, and the NAAG. Leighton is a faculty member for the State Bar of Texas Advanced Criminal Law Conference. He has appeared on A&E’s "Interrogation Raw" and "Bloodline Detectives".
