Adam is the Calgary Police Service’s (CPS) Director of Recruitment and Learning and the Chair of the Alberta Association Chiefs of Police Recruiting Sub-Committee. Before joining the CPS, Adam worked in Human Resources (HR) leadership roles in various sectors, including rail transport, oil and gas, and banking. He has spent the past three years integrating his experience into policing to support recruitment efforts and leadership and competency development.

The CPS is committed to fostering community safety, building public trust and confidence, fostering a culture of respect, equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging, and creating a psychologically safe workplace where people feel valued, respected and supported.
Emotional intelligence has been identified as a predictor of performance in law enforcement. Through collaboration with academic partners, the CPS is establishing programs with emotional intelligence as a building block to support recruiting, retention and mentoring.
