Chief David McGill served for 25 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, from 1987-2012. During his LAPD career, he worked a variety of assignments including patrol, detectives, Anti-Terrorist Division, and as the Adjutant to the Chief of Staff. He was awarded several commendations and citations including the Police Medal, the second highest award for valor. His last assignment was as the Commanding Officer of Harbor Area Detective Division. In 2012, Chief McGill was selected as the first Assistant Police Chief of the Newport Beach (CA) Police Deaprtment, where he served from 2012-2017. Chief McGill then served for two years as the Chief of Police at the Sedona (AZ) Police Department. Chief McGill teaches law enforcement courses across the United States, including Professional Standards/Internal Affairs, Leadership Development, and a course on Suicide by Cop-Assessment and Deescalation. Most recently, Chief McGill joined PAE as a contracted, senior law enforcement consultant for the ICITAP international law enforcement assistance program, supporting positive policing missions throughout the world. Chief McGill now resides in Maui, Hawaii.
