Mr. Massie began his elctronics career in the United States Coast Guard. He served aboard USCGC Ingham during the Cuban refugee exodus off of Mariel Cuba in 1980. After attending USCG Electronics Technician school, Alan began servicing USCG radio, communications security, and other communications equipment, serving four years. After a short time in field service at Honeywell Corp, he then began a career in electronics with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he has now served for 40 years. At the FBI Alan worked as an Electronics Technician until 2003, and since then as an Electronics Mr. Massie's has served as the FBI LMR program manager for microwave systems since1998. Since 2011 Alan been the FBI voting representative to the Telecommunications Industry Association TR8 Engineering Committee which authors the P25 standard and serves on the P25 Steering Committee. Alan is also the FBI project manager for High Frequency (HF) radio communications. Alan holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from George Mason University, earned while working at the FBI. A longtime hiker, Alan looks forward to more time "out there" when he retires from full time work.
