Dr. Zimmerman is Senior Attending Cardiologist and Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York and Director of the Center for Occupational Medicine and Public Safety Services (COMPASS) for Northwell Health. Dr. Zimmerman is recognized nationally for his research on the prevention and treatment of heart disease in law enforcement personnel. He is actively involved in health promotion in public safety personnel, working with numerous regional police and fire departments to develop award-winning wellness programs. He is a Director of of the New York Law Enforcement Foundation.
Dr. Zimmerman is the founding, Co-Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning national consumer heart-health newsletter, Heart & Health Reports. He has authored numerous research articles and three textbooks of electrocardiography including the highly acclaimed ECG Core Curriculum published in 2023 by McGraw-Hill.
