Marissa Fariña-Morse, is a behavioral health professional with over 20 years of experience. Marissa is an Associate Deputy Director at the Bureau of Justice Assistance where she leads a team supporting programs in justice and behavioral health.In her previous position, in community behavioral health, Marissa played pivotal role in enhancing service delivery for justice-involved individuals. She fostered partnerships with the court system, law enforcement, community providers, and peer-run organizations.
Marissa holds a comprehensive professional background as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). She earned a Bachelor of Psychology (B.S.) from the University of Florida, as well as Master (M.Ed.) and Specialist (Ed.S.) degrees in Mental Health Counseling from the same institution. Additionally, Marissa holds a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida and recently completed her Juris Master (J.M.) degree at George Mason University Law School.
