Training and Development Manager, Office of Language and Communications Access

Robbie Adams (she/her) serves as the Training and Development Manager at the City of Boston’s Office of Language and Communications Access (OLCA). She provides training and resources to City of Boston departments on how to provide accommodations to constituents who speak a Language Other Than English (LOTE), or who identify as having a disability. Robbie was raised in Hawai’i but came to Massachusetts for her undergraduate studies, earning a BA in Social Thought and Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She was a fellow at the East-West Center in Honolulu and attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where she received a master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. She has been in several international settings, learning about the issues leading to displacement of people in Southeast Asia and issues impacting internally displaced persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Robbie spent time volunteering in a refugee camp in Greece and worked as a project manager at the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights at Boston Medical Center prior to OLCA. She is dedicated to improving accessibility and inclusion for all.
