When Life Gives You Legalized Drugs, DREs Help Keep Your Community Safe

As more states move towards cannabis and other drug legalization, the opioid epidemic worsens, and new drug trends continue to emerge; drug recognition experts (DREs) are at the forefront to help your agency and community on many levels. While road policing and traffic safety are at the forefront of their expertise, DREs can provide specialized assistance to further investigations where drug use may be involved, such as domestic violence, child neglect, and drug-assisted sexual assault cases. Police agencies have found DREs to also be an integral part of community relationship building/awareness and education by offering school training such as Drug Identification for Educational Professionals (DITEP) and business training through Employer Drug Impairment Training (EDIT).
