Trends in the United States reflect an increase in acts of targeted violence demanding critical incident responses. As such, it is necessary to provide local law enforcement with the knowledge and resources to implement a crisis response plan. This is vital for smaller agencies who lack the funding and resources of federal agencies, but who are equally at risk. Panel participants represent local law enforcement who experienced a critical incident. They will discuss their perspectives, challenges overcame, and guidance for crisis response (with an emphasis on building/maintaining relationships with nontraditional partners, best practices, and lessons learned). The panel/moderator will offer expert advice that will be very impactful in the event another local agency experiences a critical incident.
