Chief of Police Billy Bolin began his law enforcement career as an Officer with the Henderson, KY Police Department in 1995. He lateraled to the Evansville, IN Police Department in 1998, where he worked as a Patrol Officer, a Detective, a Crime Prevention Officer, a Patrol Sergeant and served as their Chief of Police for twelve years before retiring in March of 2024. Chief Bolin then returned to the Henderson, KY Police Department where he is currently serving as their Chief of Police.
Chief Bolin is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership Academy. He served as President of the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police in 2022. Some of his more notable achievements are:
• National Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award for Outstanding Public Service - 2005
• Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police, Police Officer of the Year in 2009
• Named a Distinguished Hoosier by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb in 2023.
