Dr. Tamara Lynn is Chair and Professor of Criminal Justice at Fort Hays State University (FHSU) located in Hays, Kansas. Dr. Lynn serves as Executive Council President of the National De-escalation Training Center (NDTC) and Director of the Region 2 NDTC housed at FHSU. NDTC is a national network of regional training centers from across the United States that deliver the only level three de-escalation training program available world-wide. Dr. Lynn is co-author of a peer-reviewed article that reports results of research regarding barriers to recruiting, hiring, and retaining qualitfied law enforcement officers. Dr. Lynn recently facilitated an Evidence-based Policing Symposium that brought together practitioners and academics to report on topics important for law enforcement administrators from across the U.S. She holds a PhD in Sociology, with concentrations in Criminology and Political Sociology, from Kansas State University and a master of Liberal Studies, with concentrations in Public Administration and Criminal Justice, from Fort Hays State University.
