Jennifer Gonzales was appointed the Chief of Police in Napa, CA in August 2021. She started her policing career in 1993 in Chico, CA.
Jennifer’s academic accomplishments include a Masters Degree in Behavioral Science and a Bachelors in Latin American Studies. Jennifer is a graduating member of the 2nd Executive Leadership Institute class at Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, 271st class of the FBI National Academy, 52nd class POST Command College, and the 245th POST Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.
As a Captain, Jennifer oversaw the consolidated Dispatch Center, served as the Training Manager, State of California Alcohol Beverage Control liaison, and the liaison for civil and legal claims against the Police Department. Jennifer served as the Peer Support Coordinator, on the Child Abuse Prevention Council, and managed media relations, as well as the Critical Incident Stress Management team, Terrorism Liaison Coordinator, and Tactical Commander.
Jennifer serves on the NEWS/DV Board, California Massage Therapy Council Board, and was appointed by Govenor Newsom to the State of California 9-1-1 Advisory Board.
