Armando Sanders began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Montgomery Police Department. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2010 and promoted to his current position as Deputy Chief in 2012.
He is an adjunct professor for the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command where he teaches in person and on-line. He instructs on topics such as Problem Employee, Grant Writing, Strategic Planning, Training, and Police and Politics.
He has a BA degree in Business Management (Spanish minor) from North Central College in Naperville, IL and obtained his Master's Degree in Business Administration (with a concentration in Leadership) from Aurora University.
In 2014, he completed the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC #354) where he served as class president. He also completed the Northwestern Executive Management Program in 2014. He graduated from the FBI National Academy Program (FBINA 271) in March of 2018. He has presented on task forces in Illinois regarding the Safe-T-Act and other legislative changes which have affected law enforcement. He enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and grandchildren and practicing judo when time permits.
