Eric Drifmeyer is a retired sergeant from the Barnstable Police Department in Massachusetts, where he served for twenty-eight years. As a police officer, Eric Drifmeyer was the department’s principal Crime Analyst for nine years, was a member of the Cape Cod Regional S.W.A.T. team for nine years, a Field Training Officer for five years, the department Public Information Officer, and the Assistant Director of the Citizens Police Academy. After promotion to sergeant, Eric Drifmeyer served as a patrol shift supervisor and later supervised the department’s Community Impact Unit, working with high-risk populations experiencing substance use disorders, mental illness, and homelessness.
Eric Drifmeyer is currently a Senior Project Manager with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) overseeing the development of Elevate Blue, a virtual training suite for law enforcement being developed under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Eric Drifmeyer holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Western New England University and a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
