Officer Daniel Harlow, NREMT - Boston Police Officer Daniel Harlow has worked in public
safety since high school. He began his professional pursuits within maritime law enforcement,
and search and rescue, as a Harbormaster on Martha's Vineyard. Officer Harlow received
training and became an EMT in 1994, and began his career with the Boston Police Department in 1997.
Working consistently within a co-response team for over five years, Officer Harlow is now
assigned to the Boston Police Street Outreach Unit, where he is able to assist people living with
mental health, substance use disorder, and/or homelessness exclusively. This city-wide unit
supports officers across the department with these challenging issues. Officer Harlow has
received numerous commendations from the Boston Police Department for his exemplary work
in this area. Officer Harlow is involved in training recruit officers on responding to behavioral
health crises and is a Co-Coordinator of the Boston Police Department’s Crisis Intervention
Team (CIT) Training and Technical Assistance Center.
