Lisa Warshafsky (Principal, Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy, Lower Mills- Dorchester) has worked in urban education for more than 20 years. She serves as an advisor for several law enforcement organizations including MAMLEO and We Belong. Prior to becoming Principal, Lisa worked as a social worker on an all-boys locked unit as the Program Director as well as served as Guidance Counselor and Director of Guidance at SJP2CA. Lisa holds a Mater of Social Work and a Master of Education in School Adminstration and Leadership from Boston College. Lisa is a graduate of Boston College's Lynch Leadership Academy, Boston College's Emmaus Leadership Program and the Boston Family Engagement Partnership (BFEP) Fellowship. She currently sits on The Boston Compact Steering Committee and has served on Boston Compact Equity and Diversity committee. Lisa is the recipient of the 2011 Yawkey Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence, 2019 BACL Red Sox Inspirational Leadership Award and the 2017 Today's Catholic Teacher-Innovations in Catholic Education (ICE) Award for Total Community Involvement. Lisa is the proud mother of an 18-year-old daughter who is a freshman in college.
