Executive Director
YouthConnect
Kevan Barton is a committed social worker and advocate for young people. Passionate about the empowerment of youth and families, he has over twenty years of experience. “I am a true believer in the power of community. As a child, I relied on mentors to navigate my transition to higher education. Not all of my mentors had the benefit of formal education, but they helped nurture in me curiosity and love of continuous learning. Their wisdom and care anchored me. I know this has informed my career helping youth who remind me so much of where I came from.” Kevan has established himself in the community as a trusted advocate who ensures that young people have equitable access to the resources and services they deserve. Executive Director of YouthConnect, a program of Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, in partnership with Boston law enforcement, Kevan has also been a key leader with several non-profits, including time as the Assistant Director of an Alternative Middle School in Lowell, MA. Kevan currently provides strategic vision as a board member of the MA Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence and has been appointed to serve on the Massachusetts Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.
