Deputy Superintendent Grant began her career with the Boston Police Department in 1996 as a Boston Police Cadet. In 2002, Deputy Superintendent entered the Boston Police Academy and upon graduation was assigned to District B2 (Roxbury). While in B2, she was assigned to patrol, walking beat, chief clerk and eventually became a Community Service Officer.
During her tenure, Deputy Superintendent Grant has held several assignments including the Department’s Office of Media Relations, Tactical Bike Unit, Crime Stoppers Unit, School Police Unit, District A-1 Detectives, and Citywide Community Liaisons Unit. In January 2020, she was rated detective and promoted to sergeant in April 2022.
In May 2023, she was appointed to the Boston Police command staff as a Deputy Superintendent in the Bureau of Community Engagement. Her bureau consists of the following units: Crime Stoppers, School Engagement Unit, Community Collaboration & Engagement Unit and the Community Liaisons Unit.
Deputy Superintendent Grant received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University.
