Law enforcement leaders are exploring co-responder models to reduce stress on the criminal justice system, de-escalate crises, and strengthen community engagement. While the primary purpose of co-response is to enhance victim safety, other benefits, including strengthening officer safety and improving investigations, must be considered. This presentation introduces the LETTAC guide, A Roadmap to Success: Building a Co-Responder Program for Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking, developed for law enforcement and partner agencies implementing a co-responder program. The core components of these programs, types of models, community and organizational preparedness, team composition, training, keys to sustainability, and evaluation matrices will be addressed.
