Lewis Z. Schlosser, PhD, ABPP, is the managing partner at the Institute for Forensic Psychology, which is a police and public safety focused specialty practice serving agencies in New Jersey, New York, Maine, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Dr. Schlosser is Board Certified in Police and Public Safety Psychology and Counseling Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is a former tenured Associate Professor at Seton Hall University and former in-house Director of Psychological Services for the New York City Correction Department. Dr. Schlosser has conducted over 20,000 police and public safety psychological evaluations, including pre-employment, promotional, and fitness for duty.
Dr. Schlosser provides training to police and public safety personnel on a variety of topics related to officer mental health, with special expertise in fitness for duty and officer wellness. He has presented locally and nationally, including at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference, the IACP Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium, the FBI-NAA NJ Chapter Annual Training Conference, the Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MALEEDS) Annual Training Conference, the New Jersey State PBA Mini-Convention, and the Maine Chiefs of Police Association.Dr. Schlosser also regularly serves as an instructor for the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP).
Dr. Schlosser is a member and past Chair of the IACP Police Psychological Services Section. He is an affiliate member of the NJSACOP and the Bergen County Police Chief's Association. He currently serves as the Chief Psychologist for the NJSACOP and the Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police. Dr. Schlosser is an Associate Member of the Maine Chiefs of Police Association and the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association. He currently serves as a Member-at-Large on the American Board of Police and Public Safety Psychology.
