Sergeant/Public Information Officer
Chula Vista (CA) Police Department
Chula Vista, California, United States
Anthony Molina is a police sergeant and the Public Information Officer for the Chula Vista Police Department in San Diego County, California. He’s been with the department for 22 years and worked as an undercover task force investigator, homicide detective, and in the Patrol Division as an officer and supervisor before becoming the department’s PIO in April 2022. He’s also still currently a supervisor on the department’s Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) Team, helping oversee the world-renowned Drone as First Responder (DFR) program – the first of its kind in the United States, which he helped launch in 2018.
Although born in Northern California, Anthony was raised as an Air Force “brat,” moving from one place to the next – from Spain to Alabama and back to California. He later joined the US Navy and served honorably for 5 years just before attending the police academy in San Diego, California. He actually does not like long walks on the beach… but a beach chair and bucket of beverages will do.
