My name is Nate Lange, and I am a Lieutenant for the Elk Grove Police Department in Northern California (Sacramento County). I graduated from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Academy in 2009 and was assigned to the courthouse until I transferred to the Elk Grove Police Department in 2011.
I have held assignments as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, Detective, Police Officer Association Vice President, President and Sergeant at Arms, Patrol Sergeant, Professional Standards Sergeant, and Patrol Watch Commander.
I am assigned to our Special Operations Bureau as the Commander of our Crisis Response Team, SWAT Team, K9 Unit, and our 30 pilot Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Team, which includes Drone as a First Responder (DFR).
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement Management from Union University and am currently enrolled in the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership Master's program at the University of San Diego.
I serve on our Use of Force Committee and am a certified Force Science Analyst through the Force Science Institute.
My wife Gabrielle and I have been married for 20 years, and we have two boys, Javan (15) and Gavin (10).
