Megan is the Lead Outreach Officer on the Consular Notification and Access (CNA) team under the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. Megan's primary role is as a liaison between law enforcement and foreign countries Embassies and Consulates; educating both sides on what CNA is, how to carry it out, and the roles foreign countries play in assisting their nationals while arrested or detained in the U.S. Before working at the Department of State, Megan worked as a Public Affairs Officer with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). While there, she assisted with the development of intranet, public websites, podcasts, and other digital content management. Additionally, she helped to expand the Bureau’s outreach on social media and contributed numerous articles for the internal newsletter, the Communicator. Prior to working at BEP, she served in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Photographer. In her free time, Megan enjoys hiking with her dog, photography, visiting National Parks, sailing on the Chesapeake, and woodworking.
