Superintendent Darryl Dawkins is the Director for the RCMPs Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Secretariat. The Secretariat is the organization's national centre of expertise for the advancement of Anti-Racism, equity, diversity and inclusion through the creation and delivery of policies, strategies and programs. He has served 20 years with the RCMP and has been posted to Alberta, National Headquarters, and Manitoba as the Detachment Commander in Selkirk where he was Commissioned. Prior to assuming his current position he served in the Greater Toronto Area as the Operations Officer for the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team.
His commitment to Anti Racism and EDI is founded on his desire to address the barriers that he has identified throughout his career through developing an approach to enable a more equitable, diverse and inclusive RCMP. This commitment led him to create, implement and lead both the Diverse and Inclusive Pre-Cadet Experience (DICE) Program and the Diversity Retention and Employee Advancement Model (DREAM). He also established a Diversity Support Group and is the former Chairs for the Covert Operations EDI Committee.
