Matthew Domenico:
Matthew Domenico is the Chief of Police for the Brighton, CO, police department and has been with the department since 2004. Chief Domenico has been in his current role since 2022 and prior to that served as a Deputy Chief and Commander, where he oversaw the patrol division, SWAT, police training program, traffic unit, and the community resource officer program. Chief Domenico obtained his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado State University, Master’s degree from the University of San Diego in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.
Chief Domenico spent a significant portion of his career in the investigations division as a detective, investigations sergeant, and the sergeant in charge of a multijurisdictional sexual assault task force. Chief Domenico played a key role in implementing the You Have Options Program, an alternative reporting program for victims of sexual violence, at the Brighton Police Department, and oversaw the transition of the Victim Services division to become a regional law enforcement-based provider of victim services.
