As a core component of IACP’s Trust Building Campaign, providing effective victim services is essential to enhancing trust and collaboration in communities. Law enforcement agencies are increasingly establishing in-house victim services programs, partnering with community-based providers, and creating multidisciplinary teams to meet this goal. Establishing trust and cohesion in cross-discipline work can be challenging. This workshop will feature panelists with experience establishing robust multidisciplinary partnerships to integrate victim services into their agencies’ larger public safety strategies. Attendees will hear about their successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Core elements of successful partnerships and practical tips for funding and sustainability will also be discussed.
